Duties and responsibilities
  • Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, picking up and dropping off to port, directing and announcing them appropriately
  • Answer, screen and forward any incoming phone calls while providing basic information when needed
  • Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers
  • Maintain security by following procedures and controlling access (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)
  • Update appointment calendars and schedule meetings/appointments
  • Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, faxing etc.
  • Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
  • Issue bills and accept payment
  • Promote dedication from customers
 

Qualifications

  • Proven working experience in similar roles
  • Professional appearance
  • Solid communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
  • Ability to organise, multitask, prioritise and work under pressure
  • Customer-oriented approach and patience
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Attention to cleanliness and safety
  • Proficiency in English is a MUST, (other spoken and written languages will be an extra asset for this position)
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office Suites and restaurant POS software
  • Strong personality, motivational and people skills
  • High school degree, food safety training will be considered a MUST
 

Working conditions

The Receptionist position requires a person to work in special working conditions.
 
Special working conditions cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, shift work, working indoors & outdoors and working with challenging clients.
 
The Receptionist MUST be accurate and ALWAYS aware of ALL arrivals, departures and guest/residents written-special requests.
 
Collaborate with all other departments for the best results, in the best manner, in good professionalism and good faith.
 
Inform of all the changes or requests of any/every guest/client to your colleagues which you work with at any given time at ALL departments.
 
The Receptionist is responsible for explaining, assisting and MUST be ALWAYS ON SITE so as for covering every need in all aspects of the guests/customers.
 
The Receptionist is responsible for covering all needs and assisting the guests/residents from the moment the guests/clients arrive till the time they leave and must always collaborate with the other departments (kitchen, bar, beach cashiers) at all times for optimum results.
 
Physical requirements
The Receptionist’s position is a physically and mentally demanding position. You will be required το welcome, assist, explain and generally cover all information or other needs of all guests/residents. You might lift heavy objects, do repetitive tasks with few breaks, and be responsible for the entire reservations methods and operations during open season.
