MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS

Duties and responsibilities
  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
  • Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
  • Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
  • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
  • Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
  • Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed
 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as maintenance technician
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
 

Working conditions

The Maintenance Technician position requires a person to work in special working conditions.
 
Special working conditions cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, shift work, working indoors and outdoors.
 
The Maintenance Technician MUST be accurate, and follow the time-schedule of the maintenance department.
 
Collaborate with all other departments for the best results, in the best manner, in good professionalism and good faith.
 
Inform of all the equipment and building changes or repairs needed or will take place of any kind and the time schedule of when they will take place, to the General Manager at any given time during your shift.
 
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all the equipment and building good operation and services and also for providing detailed professional services on site. The maintenance technician must always collaborate with the other departments (reception,kitchen, bar, beach cashiers) at all times for optimum results.
 
Physical requirements
The maintenance technician’s position is an extremely physically demanding position. You will be required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects, do repairs and services, keep up to date, in excellent condition and refill all components and tools needed for your tasks and be responsible for the entire equipment and building excellent appearance and operation.
