Duties and responsibilities
  • Prepare and Guide Bar and Barista personnel and areas with special attention to sanitation and order
  • Attend to customers upon sitting to the bar
  • Present menus and help guests/customers select beverages, cocktails, alcohol and non-alcohol drinks
  • Take and serve orders and answer questions or make recommendations for other products
  • Collaborate with all other bartenders, baristas, bar-boy, kitchen and restaurant staff
  • Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
  • Issue bills and accept payment
  • Create and control drink and coffee catalogues and pricelists
  • Cost control of all products and materials, foods and liquids used for beverage, cocktail and drink production
  • Efficient maintenance control in collaboration with technical department
  • Promote dedication from customers
 

Qualifications

  • Proven customer care and handling experience
  • Customer-oriented approach and patience
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
  • Hands on experience in Bar Manager duties
  • Excellent people skills
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Attention to cleanliness and safety
  • Proficiency in English is a MUST, (other spoken and written languages will be an extra asset for this position)
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with bar/restaurant POS software
  • Strong personality, motivational and people skills
  • Bartender school diploma or BS degree in Tourism, Business Administration, food safety training will be considered a MUST.
 

Working conditions

The Bar Manager position requires a person to work in special working conditions.
 
Special working conditions cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, shift work, working outdoors and working with challenging clients.
 
The Bar Manager MUST be accurate, and follow the time-schedule of the bar/restaurant team.
 
Collaborate with all other departments for the best results, in the best manner, in good professionalism and good faith.
 
Inform your team of all changes, ingredients, production method of every cocktail, beverage or drink recipe is in the menu of the bar.
 
The Bar Manager is responsible for explaining, guiding and training the bar team on all aspects of their individual jobs and responsibilities.
 
The Bar Manager is responsible for all reservations that are made via telephone, e-mail, facebook, on-site and must always collaborate with the Guest Relations Manager at all times for optimum results.
 
Physical requirements
The Bar Manager’s position is a physically demanding position. You will be required to stand for extended periods of time, maybe lift heavy objects, do repetitive tasks with few breaks, and be responsible for the entire payment methods and operations during service and also assisting guests that are residents of our suites.
